It seems to be that the ones that try the hardest to create a truly absorbing setting that offers both limitless freedom and infinite realistic details are also the ones that are the most difficult to get immersed into - and Bethesda's Starfield is one of those games... but why? What makes Starfield such a flawed game, despite seeming to have the best of intentions, and what techniques can games use to make their settings more immersive and avoid this pitfall of broken suspension of disbelief?
