Ross here, back for another shave! Today's shave features Barrister and Mann - Amazelnut. The scent of Amazelnut opens with a rich, bold note of Hazelnut that rests on the base notes of Vetiver and Vanilla. The base is light and warm with just an ever so slight hint of earthiness to it that really gives this a bold scent profile. If you're a coffee lover, this should be right up your alley. It reminds me a tad of Catie's Bubbles - Ruds Suds, if you're looking for a less formidable coffee take comparison. This particular scent is offered in Barrister and Mann's Soft Heart Series, which utilizes the PP8 formula, which was the previous iteration to Excelsior while it was still in the testing phase. I've seen many that were fortunate to test this prior to Excelsior state they prefer it over the Excelsior base and I can certainly understand why. I did find PP8 a bit easier to load and dial in compared to Excelsior and the performance was on par, possibly even better, than Excelsior. The soap was dense, one of the slickest soaps I've used to date, and the soap provided excellent nourishment long after the shave. I will definitely be looking out for more soaps in this Soft Heart Series as I had nothing short of a stellar experience with PP8.
