P-2 Neptune profile

In this short video we look at the Lockheed P-2 Neptune in its early Navy career and as a Fire Bomber. I filmed T-12 in Missoula Montana, in the markings of Neptune Aviation Services. Unfortunately prior to retiring the airframe, Neptune N4235T while taking off from Reno Stead Airport on September 5th 2008 experienced a left engine fire that quickly spread to the left wing resulting in loss of control and crashed killing its three crew members on board. The second and last fatality was Neptune N14447T that, while engaging in firefighting operations on June 3rd 2012 in Utah crashed killing its two crewman. This video is dedicated to them.
