Dr. Hina Khan is working as consultant ophthalmologist and leads the medical retina service and the retinal imaging centre at Amanat eye hospital. Her special interest within ophthalmology is retinal imaging diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration and uveitis. She is a passionate advocate of the need to increase the use of state of the art retinal scans in medical retina practice for optimum results and patient care. She regularly publishes research papers in scientific journals. Her research collaborations with Prof Alastair Denniston at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham has been presented in international conferences ARVO. Retinal scans contributed by Dr Hina have been included in international websites OCT ME.org and the Oxford Handbook of Ophthalmology. Dr Hinas motivation, whether in research or in the clinic, is to improve eye health care of patients with blinding ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and uveitis.
