Five years ago, deep in the rugged outback of Central Queensland, Yamaha Dakar Racer Rod Faggotter found himself staring at his Yamaha Tenere 700, eager to take it further. He loved its reliability and handling, but out here, fuel is king—and the range just wasn’t enough. Rod had one goal in mind: a 700-kilometer fuel range. Using his Dakar racing expertise and some good old-fashioned ingenuity, Rod sketched out the beginnings of what would become the Yamaha Super Tanker. With help from Robin Box of Safari Tanks, they crafted a fuel system that perfectly embodied the Tenere spirit of adventure. But Rod wasn’t done. He collaborated with John Mitchinson of Rally Raid Products to push the bike's performance even further, adding high-performance suspension, top-tier navigation, and other essential upgrades.
