Wellness gardens are sustainable, affordable and complementary community-based efforts to achieve a lasting and sustainable quality of life and encompasses features and activities that positively affect lifestyle, mental and spiritual well-being, or mind, body and soul and the environment. There are multiple and integrated facets or life dimensions of wellness that help promote an individual and a community’s wellbeing, social connectivity, creativity and intellectual growth, physical exercise, mindfulness, in addition to sound nutritional strategies. The Wellness Gardens of Aurora are designed to be environmentally sustainable and offers activities and events that promote many of these life dimensions, such as connecting with nature, providing built spaces for community events, learning programs, and creative endeavors, accessible lighted walkways and gardening beds for physical activity, meditation commons, and more.
