MV Wearmouth - The Story, Part 1

The story of how MV Wearmouth was prepared for the long journey from Bangor, North Wales to Sunderland. It commenced on 21st August 2022 and over the winter until she was ready to leave on 7th March 2023. Pictures show the poor condition that is the result of a hard life followed by 5 years out of the water. The story of injecting life back into her and ultimately we will all see her sailing on the River Wear again. Credit goes to Bob Crompton, not only for his hard work and dedication but also for taking the photo's used in this presentation. This is a charity run 100% by volunteers with the aim of preserving our local maritime heritage.
