You want to sole your drive in its natural position, this neither shut nor open position. I see a lot of amateurs with their driver sole not flat on the ground. This makes the face shut and then you do not have a chance of your wrists to be loose. You want you wrists to be loose to get the whipping action to achieve maximum speed with your your clubhead. If the driver face is not sitting flat then you will have tighten up your wrists and this is so tough to time perfectly. It will take years upon years of practice to try to perfectly time this. Let your driver sit flat on the ground, then you have a chance of being loose with your wrists and be able to hit your longest shots. Check this the next time you setting up your driver and make sure there is no gap under the backside of the club. Then you can be loose with your wrists and you will see long straight shots.
