Compressive and Tensile Test of Concrete| What is Modulus of Rupture?

These Lectures series is only designed for Undergrade Students of Civil Engineering, who are interested to develop the concept of design of Reinforced concrete Structure i.e. Basic Design Philosophy, Limit state design method, Working Stress Method, Analysis and design of Concrete section, Design of beam for Flexural, Design of Beam for shear Only and Shear Plus Torsion Design, Design of one Way Slab, Design of Two way Slab, Design of Uniaxial column, Design of Bi-axial Column Design of Column footing, Design of Square Footing, Design of Combine Footing. Design of Wall Footing, Design of Shear wall, Design of Retaining Wall, Design of stair design and Design of All Structure in ETAB. Lecture # 6 of Reinforced concrete design Covers the following. In, this Lecture, I have demonstrated the basic Properties of Concrete, Concrete Test in Compression, Concrete Tests in Tension (i.e. Direct Tensile Stress, Split Cylinder Test and Modulus of Rupture Also, Discuss about lightweight concrete and Normal weight concrete and their densities. Hydration reaction (Reaction of Cement with water) has also been discussed with the help of equation that what product formed when cement react with water and how the Mineral admixture (Pozzolana like Fly ash, GGBS, Silica fumes, Rice husk ash etc.) and Chemical Admixture (Like Supper Plasticizer, Accelerator, Retarder, Water reducer) modifies the Properties of Concrete. What is the difference between Coarse Aggregates and Fine Aggregates? What is Modulus of Rupture?
