Adjusting the Angle of the GreenGuard Grazing Muzzle

Our customer service rep says that in a vast number of cases, the issues she helps customers with can be resolved by adjusting the angle of the muzzle. This is primarily done by adjusting the straps that attach the muzzle to your horse's halter. The GreenGuard Grazing Muzzle functions best when the bottom of the basket is about and inch from the horse's mouth and parallel with the horse's teeth. In this video, Kara goes in depth on grazing muzzle angle with the GreenGuard muzzle. One key takeaway here is that the front strap connecting the muzzle to your halter should almost always be longer than the strap at the back of the muzzle. The longer your horse's face is, the longer the front strap should be and the shorter the back strap should be. Look at the bottom of the basket after a day of grazing. If you see any teeth marks, especially focused on one side or in one corner of the muzzle, it could be angled incorrectly. If you have any questions or doubts about your horse, pony, donkey, or mule's grazing muzzle angle, don't hesitate to reach out to us. Take photos of your horse in the muzzle directly from the side and with their head upright. That will give our customer service rep the ability to see your horse's mouth inside the muzzle, and a better idea of what adjustments you can make.
