Nemeček represented Croatia at the 30th edition of the Alternative Eurovision Song Contest, in Vilnius, Lithuania, with the song "Jurjevo". They ended up 7th in the final with 303 points and 2nd in the semi-final with 218 points. Vedran Živković, Borna Maksan and Leo Beslać, the members of the band, describe themselves as a wall of sound made by a few misfits from all over the place. Nemeček draws from Balkan folk music motives with cautiously arranged vocals, splendidly composed electronic soundscapes, playful tamburica, thunderous guitar riffs and robust rhythms played in loops, creating a phenomenal atmosphere. Nemeček puts forward a hypnotic noise rock interpretation of folk music with an intense and atmospheric character. Helped by new age magic and the Slavonian tambura, the band erects a Balkan wall of sound that evokes ancient times, but also the ones that are yet to come. Last year, they released the album "Prokletije", a psychedelic tribute to the legacy of this part of Europe processed through a noise filter. Even though it came out in late November, its effect was immediately felt on several regional AOTY lists.
