To be a true knight of faith, one must first become a knight of resignation. At this stage, one renounces the finite material world to concentrate on the spiritual and the infinite. At this stage, one might find solace from all the hardships of the physical world by escaping into the spiritual. But after making the movement to become a knight of resignation, the knight can move to become a knight of faith. To be a knight of faith is to believe in the impossible becoming possible even in this physical world, as all things are possible under God.
