This is the original demo of the song from "Head", recorded sometime in either 1967 or early 1968. The recording is from a far better source than the commonly circulated bootleg version. The source for this is very close to the original tape - though I've never been able to find out who actually has the original. It came with two other demos of the era (both posted on my channel) and presumably those other demos were also offered to the Monkees. My copy of these demos was on cassette for many years before I transferred them to digital. This is a particularly stunning demo, crunch and raw as it should be - but sadly it is also still unreleased.
