Light, shade & colour play a big part in our digital art and it's something we all have to keep practicing with our daily-draws & sketching. So I thought I'd work up this little speed-paint tutorial on Light & shade in Sketchable on the Surface Book with Performance Base as I had a little free time to draw on the tablet. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below. I hope the commentary on this video answers some of them in advance and starts off an interesting debate ;) This snowy ski scene depicts an action shot of the slopes with a man at speed for no other reason than I've not painted this subject matter for a long time and it felt like a good honest challenge to sketch something different to keep me on my toes. It's the best way to keep your art skills sharp during your daily artistic routine. Always paint something other that the characters or landscapes that you might normally paint for money or for fun. Fan art is great to show off or to get views on FaceBook & social media but drawing subjects you are not used to drawing will make you a better artist!
