S13 Rear Akebono 370Z Big Brake Kit

When you on an S chassis and want to upgrade your brakes, typical next step up would be to go for 300zx brakes. This is fine for most who drift and don't do much grip driving on track. However, we noticed that the 300zx setup just wasn't cutting it! Even with the Carbotech x12 and x10 pad after a few outings we would experience brake fade! This was mainly due the rotors overheating (even with brake ducts!), lack of brake modulation (causing easy lock up in the front), and the brake fluid boiling. Are you having trouble with finding a BBK that isn't insanely priced and want to have OEM like reliability? Budget big brake kit with Akebono 370Z sport caliper and rotors is the answer! These adapter bracket were made for the 300zx to be able to install 370Z Akebono 370Z sport caliper and rotors. With that logic we took a gamble and tried to adapt this on to S13. To our surprise.. it worked! (with a bit of modifying the kit)! With the 370Z sport caliper and rotors, we noticed that: 1. No more brake fade (rotors can hand and dissipate the heat. 2. Better modulation with brake pedal (larger piston in the caliper) 3. No more brake fluid boiling. This is part 2 of 2.
