Ronald Fischer works in the Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroinformatics Unit at the Institute D'OrD'Or for Research and Education in Rio de Janeiro. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society NZ Te Aparangi and the Association for Psychological Science. His research explores how cultural and evolutionary factors shape values, beliefs, personality, and well-being. He currently leads several international projects investigating experiences often described as extraordinary, transcendental, or paranormal. He focuses on understanding how individuals make sense of these experiences and their effects on mental health. About NOEx Workshop The NOEx Workshop is a scientific event dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of religion, nonordinary experiences (NOEs), and mental health. It focuses on disseminating measurement tools for studying extraordinary phenomena such as dreams, hallucinations, near-death experiences, and other profound human experiences. The workshop brings together researchers and postgraduate students from a range of relevant disciplines, including religious studies, psychology, cognitive sciences, and biological sciences. Organized by the Pioneer Science initiative, the event was supported by the D'Or Institute for Research and Education and the John Templeton Foundation.
