Got to drive out to the great Pacific Northwest this summer and a spend a couple weeks with some great artists. Even got to catch up with our old friend Kassi Valazza up in a non-disclosed location in the forests of Portland, Oregon. Kassi introduced me to Taylor Kingman, the most interesting man in Portland, and overall, one of the most sincere and talented hombres in the City of Roses. I want you to enjoy this haunting rendition from a country/folk legend. His name is Michael Hurley. And even though you may have not heard of him, you have definitely heard his songs. The album "Armchair Boogie" is required purchasing for new listeners. And if you call yourself a fan, why don't you own "Armchair Boogie?" “Hurley is bedrock heat and alien spores. No human zero. And we gotta say, he’s our daddy, our hero,” says Kingman. I don't pretend to be an expert on Michael Hurley, but after making this video and hanging around Portland with Taylor for a couple of days, him and Kassi are the real experts, the real fans, the real torchbearers.
