This is episode #2 in a series where I am modding a Squier Sonic series Bronco short scale bass. How good sounding can I get this budget friendly bass? In this unsponsored video, I will feature the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails (neck) humbucker pickup (SHR-1n for Strat). This pickup is a drop-in replacement, as it was originally designed for a Stratocaster electric guitar. We will also explore the advantages and disadvantages of series vs. parallel wiring and will listen to their tonal differences. Basses were recorded direct through a Line6 Pod Go with the identical settings (GK800RB model). They were level matched, with the exception of parallel wiring example, but no EQ or compression was added in post.
