/ madrid.keone     / keonemadrid   Dancers. First Clip: Mari(choreo cookies) Second Clip: Johnny and David (nexxotic crew) Third Clip: Aaron(unity) and Tracy(choreo cookies) The other day I came across old dance dvd's back from 2004. Although it wasn't too long ago, It made me remember a time when it was about who could dance. Even if they didn't choreograph the piece, the person who could grab your attention on the stage, or kill the dance in class, was recognized. You were well-known because you were a dope dancer. Now a days it comes down to choreographers and internet attention. Who's got views, who's got the "coolest" moves, etc. Whether or not the choreographer could be a great dancer outside their own style or choreography seems to not matter anymore, as long as you can make up "cool" moves. Everyone wants to be a choreographer before they want to learn how to dance. These 2 clips of choreography I made are very house inspired, more so the 2nd one. I love house because you HAVE to be able to move. It's about knowing how to MOVE, not just DOING moves. There is a big difference. You don't have to worry about cleanliness, or anything like that. It's about connecting with the music and letting your body go. It's 2nd nature. You're free to just groove, dance, and be yourself. If you haven't taken house before I suggest you try because you'll really know what I'm talking about if you don't already. I think a lot of dancers have lost this train of thought, and forget that it's about dancing, not whoever does the weirdest/coolest moves. I don't want to only use youtube as a self promotion and tell you to subscribe to my account because none of that really matters. I want to be able to teach what my teachers have taught me, so dance can sustain it's purest beauty in which it started. Songs.
