Final boss already!? Well yes and no. It's the final boss...of disc 1. The game has multiple discs, which was the same for FFVII and FFVIII. Anyway, meet Beatrix. Arguably the most badass character in the game. I'm not going to spoil the video in the description, but these fights are pretty fun. She has her own boss theme (if you remember my SSE videos you'll recognize the song). Plot A lot has happened since The Black Waltz #3 fight. Just to quickly summarize it, Zidane & company learn that the lifeless Black Mages that you saw in the last video are actually being used for war, and Zidane assumes it's the Queen of Alexandria behind it. Their trail leads them to Burmecia, Freya's Kingdom. It is shown to be attacked by the Black Mages, and reaching the end reveals it is indeed the Queen behind it all, with Beatrix at her command, along with a mystery man that no one knows. That's where the video starts off. The end shows a more intimidating clear scene with the mystery man...Yea man, I know he looks like a chick, with the thong and all, but no it's a guy. Don't feel bad, I think everyone who has played this thought it was a chick at first (shoutouts to Ion from ToA). Strategy This is how you win this fight: You survive. I'm serious. The fight is timed. You can literally do nothing and still win. However, she hits very hard, so you're going to want to be prepared to heal constantly. The game doesn't really tell you that it's timed or anything, so most people attack anyway (I do for the fun of it). What you REALLY want to be doing is Stealing her amazing items with Zidane. Her best steal is Mythril Sword. It's not needed, since you can buy it fairly soon, but why not try to steal it. It's a tough steal though, you probably won't get enough time to steal it 9/10 times. Have Vivi cast magic, have Freya cast Reis' Wind, assuming you got that ability (it's a small auto-regen, good source of healing without a White Mage). I HATE Quina, but you'd do well to try to learn some of its Blue Magic spells. Namingly White Wind, if you were pro enough to take out the LV30 Garuda's at the secret exit in the Grotto. It's tough to do and not necessary, but having a group healing move is great this early on. If you don't have any good Blue Magic with Quina, then just have her item heal or spam Attack. Her attack damage is very random, by the way. That's about it. Shock is her scariest move, probably a guaranteed KO unless you're overleveled. I was about LV10-12, which is probably a level or two overleveled. For equipment tips, while you were in Lindablum, you should have Synthed up The Ogre weapon for Zidane, as it's very strong for this point in the game. For Vivi if you stole the Ice Staff, you'll have Blizzara, which is a great spell to have this early on as well. Also note that Quina is optional in the party at this point in the game (it's why she's not in the cutscene), but I recommend getting her as it makes things much easier and you can start learning her Blue Magic immediately. If you don't get her now though, you'll automatically get her on Disc 2. The fight eventually ends and Beatrix shuts you all down with one move, showing her current dominance over your entire party and how strong she is. http://www.bizkit.me
