SUBSCRIBE:    / @rocknreplay   Remember when Nirvana played on the 1992 MTV Music Awards? Well, the night was probably a bit of a blur for Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic. Before Nirvana were to take the stage. Members of Guns and Rose and Nirvana got into a confrontation backstage. Apparently the tension stemmed from Curt Cobain’s then wife Courtney Love taunting Axl Rose. Then bassist Novoselic got into it with Guns and Roses bassist Duff McKagan. The band then went out on stage and played the first few lines fo the song Rape Me because MTV had asked them not to play it. Then they launched into the song Lithium. Novoselic states that his amp wasn’t working right, so near the end of the song Krist recalls “I thought, I’m gonna do this bass toss and walk off”. Instead he threw his bass in the air, it got caught up in the lights and instead of catching it, it came down right on his head, almost knocking him out. He stumbled off stage and was treated for his injury. While the paramedics attended to his head wound, Queen guitarist Brian May handed him a glass of champagne. "I was like ‘You’re Brian May! How are you?’ and he said, ‘More importantly, how are you?’ Moments later Dave Grohl burst in.
