It was another one of those coffee "rabbit holes" that leads you down months and years of experimenting and trial and error. It seemed difficult and tedious and I just quite had the budget to afford a decent machine. When I first saw the XBAR and reached out to the XBAR team I was excited and scared. I offered to make an honest review but I didn't know how long the learning curve was going to be on this unit. Would I even be able to review it in a timely manner? The XBAR honestly surpassed my expectations. It was easy to set up, adjustable, and quick to clean. I started using it daily and practicing and I fell into the trap of making espresso just to experiment and taste new methods. It was like diving into roasting for the first time. I will be doing tons of experiments on this manual espresso machine going forward.
