Here is my final bus ride aboard the STM bus 78 route. The STM will be eliminating this bus route - among 7 others - as part of the bus redesign in the Lachine, LaSalle, Verdun, Sud-Ouest and south Ville-Marie sector starting August 26, 2024. The list of STM bus routes being eliminated are: - 15 Sainte-Catherine - 58 Wellington - 75 de la Commune - 78 Laurendeau ✅ - 109 Shevchenko - 116 Lafleur/Norman - 191 Broadway/Provost - 406 Newman (will merge with the 106 to become the 106 and will be a frequent service bus) 🚌 I will be trying my best to film one more bus ride on each of these routes before they are gone. ----- In this video, we are aboard the STM bus 78 route going westbound between Angrignon metro station and Place-Saint-Henri metro station. The 78 bus route was one of my favourite bus routes that cut through the Southwest sector of Montreal, Canada. Note that in this video, the route took some detours and terminated at Place-Saint-Henri metro station, while it normally terminates at Lionel-Groulx metro station when going westbound. The detours and termination at Place-Saint-Henri metro stations are because of construction going on where the bus normally passes. We are aboard a Nova Bus LFS diesel bus from the year 2009. This is STM bus registration number 29-090. This video was filmed on Monday, August 5, 2024 starting at approximately 11:16 am Eastern Canadian Time.
