MLA-30 Active Loop Antenna Vs. MFJ-1886 Receive Loop Antenna comparison and review

Overall the MLA-30 Active Loop Antenna is good shortwave and mediumwave antenna, almost on par with the MFJ-1886 Receive Loop Antenna, however the MFJ does outperform on Mediumwave and Longwave. Now for the cost the MFJ-1886 loop antenna retail price is $249 with $50 shipping cost for a total of $299. At the time of purchase 3 years it was a good buy. However since the MLA-30 cost under $50, I can't no longer recommend spending over $300 for a loop antenna for shortwave listening. The MLA-30 is a fun antenna for tinkering, there is a great Facebook group for MLA-30 mods. The link is below. Of course in the future I plan to modify my 2nd MLA-30 loop antenna, I plan to add a copper tube loop to replace the stainless steel ring. The MLA-30 is a definite buy, although I'm not selling my MFJ-1886 loop antenna anytime. I'm enjoying the MLA-30 loop antenna a lot more recently. It is a fun antenna. I hope you like the video. This was not a clear scientific comparison on both antennas, The MLA-30 is also great as a small portable loop antenna for my travels. I was using the stock MLA-30 loop antenna for this comparison. Both antennas are connected to my SDRPlay RSP Dx inside my basement shack. The MFJ-1886 Receive Loop Antenna is connected on ANT A port and The MLA-30 Active Loop Antenna is connected on ANT B port. Also please excuse my voice, I been recovering from a month long cold, I tried to make this video sooner, My voice is at a point where now I sound almost normal.
