Rhys, 11, was born with Cystic Fibrosis and requires daily treatments, including nebulizers, physiotherapy, and over 15 tablets. Infections can escalate quickly, leading to lengthy hospital stays. In April, he spent 22 nights at Noah’s Arc Children’s Hospital, requiring 150 doses of IV antibiotics. Despite his challenges, Rhys lives life to the fullest. He is an avid golfer, the goalkeeper for Caerleon Under 12's football team, and a dedicated fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. During lockdown, he began collecting sports memorabilia for charity events. In 2022, he hosted two rugby legends events with his dad, raising £37,000. In June, Rhys organized a golf event, raising an additional £4,000, bringing his total to £41,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Rhys plans to establish his own charity to provide exercise bikes for children in Wales with Cystic Fibrosis, aiming to gain sponsorship and host more events. "Rhys is not just my son but my best friend and a true inspiration with the way he handles adversity head-on without ever complaining," says his dad.
