The Fender Vintera II ’60s Jazz Bass celebrates the sound and features of one of the world’s most iconic low-end machines with an alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard and C-shape neck profile. The era-accurate Vintera ’60s II Jazz Bass has a special resonance for Los Angeles bassist, producer and composer Allee Fütterer, because her dad let her play his 1964 Jazz Bass when she was growing up. “I was allowed to practice on it, but I couldn’t take it anywhere,” says Fütterer, who makes music as All Made Up and tours with Weyes Blood. “I still tend to gravitate towards basses with ’60s specs. I especially love the ’60s-style C-neck profile because it lets you have a real comfortable wrist position by the headstock. And as you go up the neck, it gets wider, allowing for easy playing at the 12th fret. The Fender vintage-style early-’60s Jazz Bass single-coils have a really nice, warm sound in the neck position—perfect for walking bass lines or melodic parts—while the bridge pickup has a gritty, punchy tone for when you need a little more attack for funk, rock or punk.” The Fender Vintera II ’60s Jazz Bass also delivers the vibe and sound of the far-out decade with a 34" scale, 7.25" fretboard radius, 20 Vintage Tall frets and a 4-saddle, vintage-style bridge with treaded-steel saddles.
