Nikon F-mount M42 Infinity Focus Fix - Keychain Ring Fix - One of the easiest and quickest fixes

Hello fellow photographers, I believe I’ve discovered the easiest and quickest way to fix the infinity focus issue of M42 lenses on Nikon F-mount cameras. I was able to fix the infinity focus of my Helios 44-2 by simply inserting an ordinary keychain ring below the first optical element of the lens. You can watch the results of the conversion near the end of the video. Here are the steps of this very simple conversion: 1. Carefully unscrew the ring that secures the first optical element. I used simple tweezers to remove the ring. Once it is loosened, you can unscrew it by carefully sliding your finger in a counterclockwise direction. 2. Remove the optical element being careful not to scratch it. 3. Insert the keychain ring and make sure it sits flat inside the lens. 4. Clean the optical element if necessary, blow out any dust from inside the lens, and then gently drop it into place. 5. Position the metal fastening ring into place and then rotate it clockwise until it stops. 6. Use a screwdriver or tweezers to tighten the metal ring. 7. Test the infinity focus of your lens.
