Free and Battery-Powered: The Hop in Milwaukee
The Hop is the second streetcar network to exist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Network might be a big word though, since the sole line is only 2 miles long (with another shorter line scheduled to open soon). Nevertheless, the Hop has some advantages. It connects the Amtrak station with downtown and the lakeshore, and it is completely free to ride. What’s more, the middle section of the tracks has no overhead catenary, meaning the fleet of 5 Brookville Liberty trams run on battery power! Trains Are Awesome!
