Kaamulan Park, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon April 13, 2019 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the campaign rally of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) senatorial slate in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. In his keynote address, President Duterte emphasized a few of his administration’s accomplishments such as the rehabilitation of Boracay Island in Aklan and his directives to the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to implement land reform in the Island. “There is a law which says that a land reform shall benefit agricultural tenants,” he said, adding that through the said measure, the natives or the original inhabitants of Boracay are granted ownership of government-owned lands in the Island. President Duterte also cited that he had previously fired Cabinet members involved in corruption, and that he shall continue pursuing civil servants who are involved in the said irregularity, as well as in criminality and the trade of illegal drugs. He also encouraged the public to utilize the Citizen Hotline 8888 and report illegal activities or any form of corruption carried out by a government official or personnel. The event took place alongside Bukidnon’s celebration of the Kaamulan Festival 2019, an occasion that is unique in the province as it honors the customs and traditions of its seven (7) original tribal groups that includes the Bukidnon, Talaandig, Monobo, Matigsalug, Higaonon, Umayamnon, and Tigwahanon. * * Connect with RTVM Website: http://rtvm.gov.ph Facebook: www.facebook.com/presidentialcom and www.facebook.com/rtvmalacanang Twitter: @RTVMalacanang Google+: google.com/+RTVMalacanang
