In this video, I want to share with you some interesting stories about development of railway track gauge throughout history. As you may notice, there are many different track gauges in the world and we discover some reasons behind that. There are different reasons, but they could be divided in 3 groups, technical, political and economical. It all results in having today narrow track gauge, standard track gauge and broad track gauge. Standard track gauge is 1435mm and it is mostly used in the world. However, not all countries have them, which usually causes technical problems. Therefore, countries are going towards goal of having all rail tracks at 1435mm, but it is slow process. Do you think it is a good approach or something different could be a solution? Let me know in the comments below.
