Inkubus Sukkubus - Welcome To The Underworld - Live at the Bram Stoker International Film Festival

Filmed in October 2013, just a few days shy of Samhain Night itself, this is Inkubus Sukkubus performing "Welcome To The Underworld" live at Whitby's Bram Stoker International Film Festival. Although as its name implies, this event is primarily a film festival with dozens of movies playing from morning to late in the Spa Pavilion's cinema over the three days of the event, there's also a live music section in the 1980s-built extension hall to give event-goers an alternative to watch between films, and in 2013 they invited Inkubus Sukkubus to headline the Friday night line-up. The feel of the event is different to many gigs, as most of the audience remain seated at tables placed all round the venue, with only the most enthusiastic coming down to the front to dance by the stage. Additionally, due to the layout of the PA gear, while the sound is fantastic throughout the hall, if you go forward of the main speakers, right to the edge of the stage, you lose quite a lot of the sound, which is why this video is shot from a bit further back, and no-one is dancing in front of the camera, where I was standing was just on the edge of the "perfect sound envelope" from the speaker stacks. None of that is a criticism though, this was a truly fantastic gig at a wonderful event, with friendly organisers, thoroughly professional sound and lighting crew, and a really pleasant and relaxed crowd. The Bram Stoker International Film Festival - very highly recommended!
