This recipe uses canned or bottled tomatoes just like they use in Italy and I promise you the flavor is so fresh! This marinara sauce stores in the fridge for 5-6 days or you can make a double batch and freeze it for a few months .You can use it not only for your classic pasta dishes but for lasagna, on meatballs, chicken and fish. It's the perfect kitchen staple to have on hand to create meals in minutes Neopolitan Marinara Sauce 1 28 oz can San Marzano tomatoes or whole peeled tomatoes 4-5 cloves garlic finely chopped 5-6 TBSP olive oil 1 TBSP oregano salt to taste Optional : 1-2 tsp honey or sugar to balance the acidity of the tomatoes if desired Pour the tomatoes into a bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher. Heat olive oil over medium heat in a pan and add garlic. Cook garlic for about 30 seconds or so careful not to let it burn. Add the tomatoes to the pan and 1 TBSP oregano.
