The event takes place in major & ancient cities of India named Prayag Raj (earlier Allahabad), Haridwar, Nasik & Ujjain. It usually takes 12 years to get a repeat on the same location except in Prayag Raj and Haridwar. In Prayag Raj and Haridwar, there is an Ardh Kumbh (smaller version of Maha Kumbh) every 6 Years also. The history of Kumbh Mela in India way back to when the earth used to be the staying place for the gods. In a battle between the gods and demons to win the nectar of immortality, some of the much sought after liquid fell on the rivers at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nasik, and Ujjain. The Kumbh Mela Prayagraj is the largest human congregations on the Earth & added to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage on 8th December 2018. It is believed that according to the position of astrological stars the water of those holy rivers turns into nectar. In this festival, the Hindus wash themselves off in the holy rivers to give away all their sins. In 2019, Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Packages attracted a crowd of 24 Million including 1 Million foreign tourists as per the Government data. The holy dip at Kumbh Mela is perceived one more step closer to salvation. More interestingly, the participants of this Kumbh Mela have not only been restricted to India but people across the globe in this holy gathering. Prayagraj Airport Work has begun to spruce up Prayagraj airport and expand its capacity to handle passengers and aircraft so as to give it an international look. Currently, the lobby can host up to 350 passengers simultaneously. Following the forthcoming renovations and expansion, this capacity will more than double, allowing over 650 passengers to sit together. The ambitious expansion of Prayagraj airport is set to be completed within just 15 months, in anticipation of Mahakumbh-2025. The construction of a new building connecting to the main terminal has already commenced. The current airport terminal occupies an area of 6,700 square meters, which will soon expand to 9,500 square metres. Once the expansion is finalised, the airport will have the capacity to accommodate seven large and eight small aircraft simultaneously. Ganga Expressway Ganga Expressway is an under-construction, 594 km (369 mi) long, 6-lane (expandable to 8) wide greenfield expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is being constructed in two phases. Phase-1 will connect Bijauli village on NH-334 in Meerut district with Judapur Dandu village on NH-19 in Prayagraj district, while Phase-2 will see the extension of both sides of the expressway: from Prayagraj to Ballia and from Meerut to Haridwar. It is being implemented by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) on the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Transfer (DBFOT) Model. The construction work from Meerut to Prayagraj has been divided into 12 packages. Packages 1 to 3 will be constructed and maintained by IRB Infrastructure, while Packages 4 to 12 by Adani Enterprises. The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, led by Yogi Adityanath met at Prayagraj, the venue of the Kumbh Mela, and cleared the decks to construct Ganga Expressway on 29 January 2019. #mahakumbh2025 #prayagrajkumbh #GangaExpressway #PapaConstruction
