What can we say about a concert life that doesn't seem to have room anymore for these colorful, magical, tuneful overtures and suites? Their neglect is simply impossible to comprehend. There is in fact a huge amount of orchestral music by Rimsky-Korsakov beyond the usual "big three:" Sheherazade, Russian Easter Overture, and Capriccio Espagnol.
