Simple Puri recipe 🍪 Ingredients: 1 cup whole wheat flour🌾 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 🌾(optional, for extra crispiness) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon oil or ghee (clarified butter) Water (as needed) Instructions: Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour (if using), salt, and oil or ghee. Knead Dough: Gradually add water and knead to form a soft, smooth dough. The dough should be slightly firmer than chapati dough. Let it rest for about 15 minutes. Divide Dough: Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball. Roll Out: On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a small circle, about 3-4 inches in diameter. Roll gently to keep the thickness even. Heat Oil: Heat oil in a deep frying pan or kadai over medium heat. To test if the oil is hot enough, drop a small piece of dough into the oil; it should float and bubble up. Fry Puris: Carefully slide one puri into the hot oil. It should puff up. Use a slotted spoon to gently press down on the puri to help it puff up fully. Fry until golden brown and crisp, then drain on paper towels. Serve: Serve hot with your choice of curry or chutney.
