How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima 16 Cubic Foot SkyBox NX on our 2022 Kia Sorento. Adding a cargo box is the solution to the problem of how are you gonna be able to increase your cargo area if you have a full house on the inside of the vehicle. So if your Sorento has the third row like this model here, you know with that back row flipped up, you have practically no cargo area and this is gonna allow you to compensate for that, 'cause otherwise your roof would be bare and it doesn't have any space so you're making use of some useless area. The standout feature on the SkyBox NX is the nano finish that is scratch resistant and also pretty sharp looking on top of your vehicle. It's built to basically conceal any scratches or abrasions that may come up on the surface. The box itself is pretty large. It's 16 cubic feet and it's designed to accommodate up to three people and it opens from both sides. Another really cool feature about that is the fact that it makes it more difficult to lock your key in 'cause your key cannot remove while the latch is open. So that protects you from accidentally locking your key inside. Your overall dimensions are gonna be 35 wide and enclosed, 16 inches tall. So that's gonna cover your bases for a lot of bulkier items. And as long, the space between here is about 12 inches. So as long as it's within 12 inches tall, you'll be able to fit it into the opening. The SkyBox is secured to your rooftop system using the clamp system that's adjustable for different spreads. You'll be able to fasten it down using the included Yakima torque handle on the inside of the clamps and it just clicks once you hit the specified torque requirement. Take a look up on top of the roof and you can see with the size of this box, it takes up most of your roof rail system. You still have some bar available, but you know you want to consider how much space it takes up on top of your vehicle. Another real cool thing is you can position it either side so you can have it where you open it from the driver's or passenger side, whichever way works best for your setup. Alternatively, there are a few different options that you can go for. Instead of four rooftop cargo carriers, there are baskets that are available where I would suggest that you would add a net or something along with it. But with this guy right here, this is gonna make sure everything is protected and safe. So this is gonna look at the Yakima SkyBox NX, 16 cubic foot cargo box on our 2022 Kia Sorento.
