In 2013, Geraldine Largay set off on her dream adventure of hiking the Appalachian trail. She had been preparing for the trip for months and was an avid an experienced hiker ready for the challenge, a challenge that would take months to complete. To help her out, her husband George kept in constant contact with Geraldine and often met her along the way to bring her clean clothes and supplies and also to make sure she was okay. On the 23rd of July she was due to meet George at the Route 27 Crossing but she never showed up. George wasn’t worried at first. He waited and waited but as time went by Gerry never came. Exactly what happened to Gerry wasn’t discovered until two years later when she was found by a crew filming the reality series Animal Planet.
