Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Brewster's Millions Of Rants with The 1970s Phase Craze. During the 1970s, there was a noticeable explosion of sound surrounding a specific modulation effect that appears on hundreds, if not thousands of songs - the humble phaser. This rant/lesson dives deep into the world of those swirly and lush phase effect sounds that you hear in plenty of popular songs/music (especially from the 1970s). Aside from featuring my stash of phaser pedals in this episode, we're also hitting a number of songs that feature phase effects from the 1970s - including songs by artists/groups such as David Bowie, Rush, Joe Walsh, The Police, Led Zeppelin, Triumph, and the mighty Pink Floyd, to name a few. As I mentioned, this episode features my stash of phaser pedals in my studio, which includes the MXR Phase 95, the new MXR Deep Phase, and the MXR Uni-Vibe (which is technically a phase pedal).
