MG Char's Gelgoog Ver 2.0 || The Thickest 2.0?

Intro - 00:00 Build - 0:46 Appearance - 4:35 Articulation - 7:49 Gimmicks - 10:25 Verdict - 13:39 Yo~ finally taking a look at that Gelgoog. Really interesting kit. Definitely the best bulky Master Grade I've seen in a very long time. I want to make another video before the end of the month. The P-Bandai exclusive RG RX-78-3. It’s going to be a ‘casual’ review in the same vein as the RE/100 Vigna Ghina, so should be a quick turn-around. Already shot all the footage. Just need to finish writing the script, record audio, and edit it. Shouts out to my boy Kai for being patient with me lol -- Production notes for future me to laugh at – - Shouts out to the 278 people that saw the original version of this review lol. Basically, I wasn't super happy with the first version, mainly because it had a whiny, negative tone. I had a bad feeling about it, but uploaded it anyway because I was ready to move on. It was up for about an hour and it got 5 comments. 2 were about my negative tone, and 1 was about how I had the shoulder fins backwards (see below for that fiasco lol). So I took the video down and decided to make some changes. After a few attempts to fix these issues, I just decided 'forget it' and just re-recorded ALL of the audio with quite a few tweaks to the script. Then I re-edited the review to fit the new audio. I'm much happier with how it turned out. - First off, about the backwards shoulder fins. I built this kit with them facing the wrong way, creating a large gap in the shoulder. That's how ALL my footage was. I then had a section in the review where I pointed out the gap, not knowing it was made wider by mistake. However a helpful subscriber commented on it, which was the main reason I took the original version down. I got some new footage with the shoulder fins in the correct alignment, but it's still there, just a bit more concealed. I was going to still criticize it however the other 90% of this footage still had them backwards. This inconsistency was just becoming way too much of a hassle, so I just scrapped the whole shoulder gap complaint entirely. - I'm not sure I nailed the music level on this. The first version had the music way to quiet, so I beefed it up in this one, but I think I over did it. I really need to find the right levels and make note of them for consistency. - I can't think of a good title for this. Part of why the Turn A did so well was that title. I wanted something similar, but just couldn't nail anything down. "Really that Gel-good?" lol - Capturing footage was also pretty straight forward. Nothing got in the way. I do think I was more consistent with the lighting compared to the Turn A review though, which is fantastic. The color for the stills is slightly off though. Might have to do with how I decreased the contrast when converting from RAW. Need to figure out if I can offset that with a bump in saturation or something. - I kind of threw out the shot-list halfway through making the video. I think I’m about at the point where I don’t need to rely on one as much. Maybe have one for specific still images, but probably don’t need to make one for basic B-roll. - Editing was interesting. I timed myself and broke down each section by editing time, here’s the results: - Intro – 28 minutes - Build – 1 hour 18 minutes - Appearance – 58 minutes - Articulation – 20 minutes - Gimmicks – 30 minutes - Outro – 6 minutes - Effects and panning of stills – 2 hours 54 minutes - Text – 1 hour 58 minutes - Final touch ups – 1 hour - Total time spent editing – about 9 hours and 30 minutes - However, this was thrown out the window when I redid everything. I'd say that stacked on another 4 hours of editing. - For some reason the video is very compressed here on Youtube. Its really weird. Just checked the original file and it's still pretty bad, just not as pronounced. Hmm... It's only in the still images (most visible on extreme closes up of the dark red pieces throughout the build section) so it could be the video color filter compounding with the adjustments from conversion from RAW. I'll test later. No more, please~, I can't stand to look at this kit anymore lol But anyway, here's some music I've been enjoying. I doubt anyone gets this far in the description, so this stuff is kinda just for me to look back on in a year and remember "oh yeah, that's what I was into at that point." Anyway, on a Eurobeat kick right now. It all sounds the same, and I love that lol:    • King & Queen   Seventies      • Help Me by Nuage      • David Dima - Crazy   And of course, 脇田もなり of Especia started a solo career, and it's amazing:    • 脇田もなり - peppermint rainbow
