This hidden gem of the wine world is now accessible for travellers and wine lovers to discover ancient traditions of winemaking through Georgian wine regions. Georgian traditional winemaking method is included in UNESCO world heritage list. Right now we are at Kakheti wine region which is called the engine of the Georgian viticulture industry.It is one of the most important wine regions in Georgia. Approximately, three-quarters of the vineyards of Georgia are cultivated here and it is often referred to as the cradle of wine. We visited the factory as a small group and were introduced to details of grape picking , wine making , storage and different types of wine produced locally in georgia. It was enriching to learn about how wine making was one with Georgian lifestyle Not only did we see how it's done but also had first hand experience in baking and eating our own local shoti bread ! This will surely be an everlastin travel memory The Bodbe Monastery is nested among tall Cypress trees on a steep hillside overlooking beautiful views of the Greater Caucasus mountains. Sighnaghi - the city of love One curiosity about this city is that there is a wedding house working 24 hours a day and thus many tourists come to get married there Sighnaghi is a charming place, and due to the love stories around it, everybody calls it 'the city of love. Sighnaghi wall was built in the 18th century. It was a 4 km wall, with 28 towers, named according to the village. Only a part of the wall is visible, which is used for tourism. We had another chance at the wine tour but this time an upclose and personal one with a local georgian family who do winemaking at their own home in a non commercial setup As the tour was concluding, we had coffee together reminiscin the happy & eventful day we just experienced Returning back to Dubai wit great memories.
