We sat down with Filipino-American actor Josh Dela Cruz for an interview he describes as the most fun he's ever had! He recalls how he moved places during his childhood-- having being born in Dubai, then moving to the East Coast at the age of 2 before finally settling down in the West Coast last May. He recalls how as a child, he looked forward to watching old movies that depict a lot of machismo such as Predator or Total Recall- yet not being able to relate to the alpha male model on the screen. Which is why he thinks it is a privilege to be playing a fun and "silly" fictionalized character of himself in Blues Clues & You. Josh talks about his deep respect for the crew because they let him be his own self, especially with him being Filipino. He also seeks advice from former Blues Clues stars, Steve Burns and Donovan Patton and they tell him to simply “explore you, and celebrate you.” Unlike other stars who knew at a very early age what they wanted to do, Josh says he didn't start performing until he was in high school. Yet, Despite being late in the game, he was still able to land a prominent role in Aladdin before eventually getting that phone call from the producers of Blues Clues & You that changed his acting career forever. Now with #BluesClues upcoming movie, Blue's Big City Adventure— which will be streaming this November 18 on Paramount+, he's excited to bring the adventure outside of storybook world which kids and kids-at-heart shouldn't miss!
