I explored the Austrian Dolomites

The Lienzer Dolomites are part of the Gailtaler Alps in East Tyrol and famous for its rock formations. This hike took me from the Triestacher Lake near the town of Lienz to the Dolomiten Hütte and then further on to the Karlsbader Hut. The hut sits behind a crystal clear alpine lake allowing for spectacular views. This is truly a hidden gem in Austria, as it is not as famous and crowded as the Italian Dolomites! The hike took me five hours one way and can be done by anyone with a moderate fitness level.
