French Navy Hyères Naval Air Base - AS365 Dauphin SAR Helicopter

Captain Arnaud from the French Navy's Flotille 35F in Hyères presents the two types of Dauphin (Dolphin) helicopters to us. ===================== The AS365 Dauphin is a medium-weight multipurpose twin-engine helicopter produced by Airbus Helicopters. In the French Navy (Marine Nationale) there are two types of Dauphin, both conducting search and rescue: - The first type is deployed aboard aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle for the so-called PEDRO mission. It consists in watching over the operations (launch and recovery) of the carrier air wing, day and night. - The other type of Dolphins (with a shorter nose) are deployed along the French coastline as well as overseas and conduct typical search and rescue operations at sea. The AS365 Dauphin is set to be replaced by the H160M HIL "Guepard" (Cheetah) next generation helicopter circa 2030. ===================== For new videos every week, subscribe here! http://www.youtube.com/c/NavalNews?su...
