How to Buy Meat Birds || Raising Backyard Meat Chickens || Price Per Chick

#meatbirds #raisingmeatchickens #howtobuymeatbirds Meat birds!!! It's that time of year again when we purchase our next batch of meat chickens! We've been raising & processing our own meat birds for a few years now & we love the fresh meat...we especially LOVE that we know where it came from, what it was fed, how it was raised and humanely processed with our own hands. If you've been thinking about raising your own meat birds, you should really give it a try! You could start out with a small "chicken tractor" so they can be moved around everyday and eat fresh grass and bugs (their natural diet)...there's really nothing to it. You don't need very much space at all & you only have to take care of them for 8-10 wks before processing! There are a lot of ways to buy meat birds. You can often find them being sold at your local farm stores, but we prefer to order them online from Welp Hatchery. We've had great success with their chicks & they've always had great customer service! I'll put their link below so you can check them out! https://www.welphatchery.com/index.php? Your chicks will arrive in a little box and will need to be kept in a warm place with a heat lamp for the 1st week or 2 until they grow their feathers, then they can be placed outdoors in a coop or chicken tractor. We bought 30 meat birds today for just $1.95 per chick! That's a steal of a deal when you consider how expensive a whole organic chicken costs at the store! So for under $60, we will have a freezer stocked full of lovely, fresh...humanely raised chicken to last us for months to come! Thanks for stopping by today friends! Take care and get you some meat birds! Spring is right around the corner...no time better than the present! 👍 Let’s Connect!
