"In the Rifted Rock I'm hiding"(Mary Dagworthy James) - CBC Hymn Sing with congregation

The legendary CBC Hymn Sing often sang in the churches of Manitoba where they recorded some less formal performances. This classic hymn was recorded in English & German in the town of Steinbach, Manitoba (1992). The original words were written by Mary Dagworthy James in (1878) with music by W. Warren Bentley with the German translation by Carl Rohl. The "Rifted Rock" stands for Jesus Christ who was wounded & then raised from the tomb for our salvation. In the rifted Rock, I'm resting, Safely sheltered, I abide. There no foes nor storms assail me, while within the cleft I hide. Now, I'm resting, sweetly resting, In the cleft once made for me. Jesus, blessed Rock of Ages, I will hide myself in Thee. The German section is from the 3rd verse & roughly translates to: I am safe and secure, For with You there is sweet peace; Even if there are storms in life, Lord, Your wing covers me. Then comes the refrain which is the same as the English text in the subtitles.
