Alpine Loop Cascade Springs

At the start of this day trip, as we entered the canyon, we were a little worried we had gone too early to see much fall colors. Nope, it was fabulous. This day trip took us about 5 hours total. We are an hour and a half from the canyon, then the trip through the canyon took about 3 hours with two stops at Cascade Springs. The road in the canyon is narrow and with lots of twists and turns. The driver will be seeing a lot of road, not so much fall leaves. I told Jeff he could see it all in this video lol. The walks at Cascade Springs was mostly easy and accessible to most. The lower parking lot is where we went for the wooden walkways through the springs. There are two ways down to the springs from that parking lot. The trail closest to the restrooms was pretty steep at the beginning, but very short. We didn't go the other way on the other end of the parking lot, but the trail looked more gradual but longer. So if you have mobility issues or strollers perhaps try that one. Wear decent walking shoes (ask me how I know this is a thing). The wooden walkways were easy and well maintained. There was a crowd in the parking lot but not so many that it was a problem. Beautiful area with running creeks as background music. It was fabulous.
