Chroma CUBE66 - medium format pinhole camera from Chroma Cameras

I absolutely love the images this camera creates... oozing with pinhole character, but with enough sharpness and contrast to actually make them great images. It's going to take me a while to get to know the best way to use this camera, and what sort of images I should be composing, how to work with the sun to get the best out of it... but for the first time ever with a pinhole camera, I actually want to work with it! Pinhole has never really been my thing. I bought a Thingyfy pinhole 'lens' for my Sony A7R2 a few years ago, and to my mind it created average images at best, didn't inspire or excite me, and literally filled the sensor with dust. Not impressed. The next outing was on this channel when I created a pinhole board for my Intrepid 4x5. I was at least happier with those results. They had character... but were so blurry that they could only really be viewed from a distance, and frankly the whole 4x5 thing was water on them! Then I met Steve from Chroma Cameras (https://chroma.camera) a few weeks ago, and he had created a new medium format pinhole camera, called the Chroma Cube 66. It looks great, and Chroma have a great name for creating quality cameras. So I thought I'd give it a shot. I want to like pinhole, I really do. I know that a lot of people put a lot of time and effort into pinhole, or lensless, photography, and I know it's something that can take years to perfect. I don't mind putting the time in, but I need to feel inspired. And for the first time with pinhole I actually do feel inspired. The Chroma Cube66 is great, I really enjoyed the results. I feel like they have plenty of character, loads to like about them. I particularly love the width of the lens, the 30mm shooting on 6x6 gives you a massive field of view, it's literally huge. To the extent that when I set up a shot looking straight up into the trees I had to squat down under the camera to make sure it didn't get me in! I've got some exciting plans coming up with this camera... watch this space! As always, let me know what you think!
