At Eco Park there is a place called Sculpture garden, where we can view the relief sculptures speaking the important historical events and great masters of 19th and 20th century of Bengal. Eco Park in Kolkata hosts a light-and-sound show. The show outline the history of Bengal. It is being held at the Sculpture Garden inside the park. The daily 45-minute light-and-sound shows are held at 5 PM, 6 PM and 7 PM. Tickets are priced at Rs 30. The narrations are held in Bengali and English. The park has 12 sculpted panels, each represent a famous person or an event from the glorious history of Bengal. Coloured light formations are projected onto the panels and a pre-recorded soundtrack is played, containing music and voice. Besides the relief sculptures, there are portraits of 52 well-known people as well as a few life-size statues. Replete with various story that has helped shape the history of Bengal; the sculpture garden at Eco Tourism Park in New Town is a one-of-a-kind attraction of not only Kolkata, but that of the country as well. Showcasing the boast and the bold heroics of some of Bengal’s most noble leader, the sculpture garden is a humble reminder of the great courage and integrity of these icons. Their stories, presented in the form of a brilliant light and sound show in the sculpture garden has been getting many visitors since its inception and is another crown jewel in the already beautify Eco Tourism Park. From the Middle Ages Renaissance led by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda of 19th and 20th Century Bengal – the sculpture garden upholds the history of twelve prominent and exceptional Bengali personalities. A walk through the confused and constructed - like garden will take one back to the stories from a few hundred years ago of events of mighty cultural importance. The events and the stories of these twelve individuals are represented via murals that highlight the happenings. The design has been conceived by Suvaprasanna and the principal architect of the project is Partha Ranjan Das while HIDCO provided the engineering supervision. Breaking the monotony of light and sound shows wherein audiences are expected to be seated, the light and sound show of the sculpture garden at Eco Tourism Park provides a refreshingly new take on the concept. The idea of moving in troops from one sculpture to the other while enjoying the brilliant acts is a more engaging experience. Along with the sculptures and the light and sound show, the sculpture garden also has 52 portraits starting from Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu to Begum Rokeya and it maintains the tradition of Eco Tourism Park in serving one nouveau concept after the other.
