Precious Moments Chapel Tour

Carthage Missouri is home to a very cool attraction: The Precious Moments Chapel. Created by Sam Butcher in 1975, the angel figurines with the big doe eyes are instantly recognizable and are a cool part of Americana. This is a guide narrated tour of the interior of the chapel, with the tour guide explaining the history and all of the different paintings inside. Sometimes referred to as The Sistine Chapel of the Americas, Sam painstakenly painted the ceiling by laying on his back in a scaffold, much as his counterpart Michaelangelo did before him. As of this date Sam is still alive, spending most of his time in the Phillipines but returning to the States for special events. Enjoy!
