In this video take a look at how our high performance secondary windows deal with noise pollution in this first floor apartment on a busy high street in Chelsea. The clients themselves were experiencing noise levels of up to 58dB in their property, with a mix of motorbikes, buses, cars and footfall all contributing to the mix. Importantly, the units we installed needed to allow for the exterior windows to be fully opened should the tenant choose. There was no choice but to install our top of the line solution - high performance secondary windows for road traffic noise. This would not only deliver the best noise reduction, but the opening range required. However, when it comes to soundproofing a property, you're only as strong as your weakest link. And in the case of this building, its weakest link was its walls. With a full aluminium facade, it basically kept no noise out at all and required the installation of specialist acoustic walls inside of the property, decoupled from the existing structure. So what are the results? With a previous maximum of 58dB, the Lmax with our windows installed is now 31dB with an average (Laeq) of 27dB.
